The first wife of Prophet Muhammad [ sallallahu alayhi wa sallam ] was Khadijah [ radiyallahu anha ].
Our beloved Prophet was 25 years old when he married for the first time in Mecca, and our mother Khadijah [ radiyallahu anha ] was 40 years old.
From his marriage to Khadijah [ radiyallahu anha ], Prophet Muhammad [ sallallahu alayhi wa sallam ] had children: Qasim, Zaynab, Ruqayyah, Umm Kulthum, Fatimah, and Abdullah. From his marriage to Mariya, his son Ibrahim was born.
One of the special aspects of the Prophet’s [ sallallahu alayhi wa sallam ] life was his family life and marriage. There were reasons and wisdom behind his multiple marriages.
The other wives of the Prophet [ sallallahu alayhi wa sallam ] were: Sawda bint Zam'ah, Aisha, Zaynab bint Khuzaymah, Maymunah bint Harith, Hafsa bint Umar, Zaynab bint Jahsh, Safiyyah bint Huyayy, Juwayriya bint Harith, Umm Salamah, and Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with them all).
